Dog Fouling

The Council would like to remind you that the Pewsey Parish Council Playing fields are not intended as open access areas. The Rugby Club, Junior Football Club, and Senior Football Club are all experiencing dogs being exercised on their pitches. They are having to clear pitches of dog mess before they can play. This is especially bad for the pitches where the junior teams play. Not only is it very unpleasant and unhygienic to play on contaminated pitches but the greatest risk to public health is toxocariasis.  The larvae found in dog mess can migrate to various body organs, such as heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, muscle and eyes. This is especially dangerous to children.

PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOGS OFF OF ALL THE PLAYING FIELDS there are plenty of footpaths, bridleways etc. in the area, please exercise them there, pick up all mess and dispose of it appropriately.
