All of the sports groups listed below are tenants of the Parish Council. They pay a yearly rent to the Parish which is a nominal amount so that the clubs are not overburdened financially. All the clubs have to maintain their own facilities, however, the Parish Council does occasionally assist with unexpected issues such as tree work. A representative from each club attends the bi-monthly Environment Committee to give a regular report.
Angela Yeates Memorial Ground
The Angela Yeates Memorial Ground is owned by the Parish Council after being purchased in 2001. This investment was made to not only protect the land from future development but also to ensure that the land would be used as a sporting asset for the community. The ground was named after the previous landowner’s wife.
Pewsey Vale Rugby Football Club were the first, and currently remains, the sole tenant of the ground. In the first two years, after the purchase, the rugby club set out the rugby and training pitches. Mains electricity was laid on, two changing rooms and WC facilities installed and a 50 space car park built. Further improvements have seen the installation of floodlights through a grant from the RFU and a S.106 developer contribution from Bloor Homes.
Since 2015 the Rugby Club have been in the process of planning, funding and building a clubhouse. The total cost will be in the region of £200,000, funded through grants, rugby club fund-raising events, the Buy-a-Brick scheme, donations from individuals of money, time and skills.
This building will give the club a permanent base with meeting and entertaining space and will enable the club to expand its junior section and introduce rugby initiatives. Pewsey Netball Club who have courts on site will also be able to make use of the new facilities. New links to other sporting clubs in the village hope to be forged in the near future.
With the completion of the clubhouse an additional, bookable community space with parking will allow the site to be used during the day .
Pewsey Vale Rugby Football Club can be contacted through their website if you want information about playing or details of their fundraising activities.
Hospital Playing Pitches – Wilcot Road

Since 1997, Pewsey Vale Youth Football Club have leased the grounds from the Parish Council. In 2012, the land ownership was transferred from Wiltshire Council to the Parish Council under the Community Assets Transfer scheme to be retained for community use.
Pewsey Vale Youth Football Club offers quality football coaching to boys and girls from the age of 5 up to 18 years. There are over 140 player members with the teams playing in the North Wilts Youth Football League. They can be contacted through their website.
The Parish Council has assisted the club by facilitating the funding of a new pavilion and storage unit through S.106 developer contributions. This new facility will be opened in Autumn 2017 and will be a great addition to the club and the wider community.
